Our Treeside Vision

Walking into Treeside is a multi-sensory experience for all who enter. This is a manifestation of fulfilling our mission to provide a rigorous whole-child education.

As you walk around the school you notice something distinctly different: Treeside's “Outdoor Learning Laboratory.” Trees are labeled with their type and a brief description. Flowerbeds are filled with seasonal flowers planted, maintained, and studied by students. The geodesic dome greenhouse is filled with budding plants.  The orchard provides shade and fruitful learning opportunities.  Rabbits and chickens teach students valuable husbandry skills.  You begin to see that Treeside is not just a building with classrooms. Children here learn in a variety of environments.

Treeside Charter School combines love & logic to class room learning. It builds confidence and kindness in students as they grow and learn.

Learn how Treeside Charter School supports and helps families have a better experience with childhood education both in class and at home.

Many families are looking for an alternative to home schooling. Treeside Charter School offers a realistic solution for parents who want their children to have a hands-on experience with a solid education.

Hear directly from a school board about the board’s commitment to your child’s education and learning experience at Treeside Charter School.

Welcome to Treeside! Here you will find the authentic work of children. Bulletin boards display children’s artwork and academic work. Tables display children’s handworks such as sculptures, knitting, and paper mache’.  Gardens blossom with children’s work in the natural environment.

At Treeside, you will find arts integrated with academic study. You will hear children’s voices reciting a word family poem, reading a story they authored, singing multiplication tables, or acting in a dramatic presentation of Greek mythology. You will see children’s graphic depictions of social studies and history. You will see children moving gracefully in dance and yoga to learn mathematical concepts. Teachers create lessons which integrate art, drama, movement, and music to make learning creative and meaningful.

At Treeside, Educators believe that high student achievement is the product of purposeful multi-sensory holistic pedagogy. In Waldorf terms, we do not sacrifice the “heart and hands” in order to develop the “head.” In fact, we believe the opposite. In order to be truly intelligent and compassionate human beings, we work to develop our understanding of how everything in the world connects to and impacts everything else, and what our place and purpose is. We learn the practical skills necessary to take meaningful action in our own lives and contribute to the lives of others.

This is Treeside’s vision for education.

Join us on this incredible journey!
