WHAT IS WALDORF METHODOLOGY:
The Waldorf methodology or approach to education began in 1919 in Germany. Looking for a solution for his workers, the owner of the Waldorf-Astoria factory asked Rudolf Steiner, a philosopher to not only start a school for the children, but to develop a world-class education program for them. A century later, there are over 1,200 Waldorf Schools around the world, including nearly 400 and growing right here in the United States. Waldorf has become the largest independent school movement in the world.
Waldorf-inspired education is increasingly popular among private schools and charter schools. Even some public schools have begun offering the Waldorf methodology inspired by Steiner. Treeside Charter School in Provo, Utah is proud to be among the growing number of Waldorf-inspired schools.
